FMX-200 is designed for data transmission over TDM networks (SDH or PDH). FMX-200 performs data transmission in single E1 or multichannel E1 bundle. FMX-200 consists of a shelf, central switching module and inverse multiplexing modules. Each inverse multiplexing module has eight ports E1. User can assign several E1 for data transmission in one direction, several E1’s to another direction etc. Thus it is possible create several data paths in SDH/PDH network with up to 16 Mbps bandwidth.
It is possible to install up to 14 inverse multiplexing modules into FMX-200. This allows to have up to 112 ports E1 in a single device.
Central switching module contains two Gigabit Ethernet ports and performs Layer 2 packet switching between Gigabit Ethernet ports and inverse multiplexing modules. User assigns each E1 channels group to some 802.1q VLAN and packets owned to this VLAN is transmitted through this group.
FMX-200 provides Gigabit Ethernet ports redundancy scheme 1+1, remote management and control.
